จัดสัมมนาเตรียมพร้อมลดก๊าซเรือนกระจก–รักษ์โลก ก่อนเข้าสู่ช่วงการแข่งขันซีเกมส์–อาเซียนพาราเกมส์

นางโปรดปราน สมานมิตร รองผู้ว่าการฝ่ายกีฬาอาชีพและกีฬามวย การกีฬาแห่งประเทศไทย (กกท.) เป็นประธานเปิดการสัมมนาเชิงปฏิบัติการ เพื่อถ่ายทอดแนวทางการลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกในการแข่งขันกีฬาซีเกมส์ ครั้งที่ 33 และกีฬาอาเซียนพาราเกมส์ ครั้งที่ 13 จัดขึ้นเมื่อวันที่ 17 พฤศจิกายน ณ โถงชั้น 1 อาคารเฉลิมพระเกียรติ 7 รอบ พระชนมพรรษา กกท. หัวหมาก

การสัมมนาครั้งนี้ได้รับเกียรติจาก ดร.ก้อง สุริเย ที่ปรึกษาโครงการและผู้เชี่ยวชาญด้านคาร์บอนเครดิตและเทคโนโลยีสิ่งแวดล้อม เป็นวิทยากร ให้ความรู้ครอบคลุมตั้งแต่พื้นฐานก๊าซเรือนกระจกและผลกระทบจากการเปลี่ยนแปลงสภาพภูมิอากาศ แนวคิดคาร์บอนเป็นกลาง (Carbon Neutrality) และการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกสุทธิเป็นศูนย์ (Net Zero) ไปจนถึงหลักการประเมินคาร์บอนฟุตพรินต์ การกำหนดขอบเขตและจัดทำบัญชีก๊าซเรือนกระจกเบื้องต้น การจำแนกและระบุแหล่งปล่อย–ดูดกลับก๊าซเรือนกระจก รวมถึงการเก็บข้อมูลเพื่อประเมินการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกในทั้งสองมหกรรมกีฬา

ดร.ก้อง กล่าวว่า การแข่งขันซีเกมส์และอาเซียนพาราเกมส์ครั้งนี้ นอกจากการแข่งขันในสนามแล้ว ยังต้องการสื่อสารแนวคิด “แฟร์กับโลก แฟร์กับเกม” (Fair to the Earth, Fair to the Game) เพื่อกระตุ้นให้ทุกฝ่ายตระหนักถึงสิ่งแวดล้อมก่อนที่ผลกระทบจะรุนแรงเกินแก้ โดยแผนดำเนินงานแบ่งออกเป็น 2 มิติหลัก ได้แก่

ด้านการสนับสนุน
ลดคาร์บอนจากการเดินทางและที่พักของนักกีฬา–เจ้าหน้าที่ ส่งเสริมการรีไซเคิลของเสียทุกประเภท และบริหารจัดการขยะให้เป็นระบบ

ด้านเทคนิคการแข่งขัน
บริหารจัดการรูปแบบการแข่งขันเพื่อลดการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจก ตรวจสอบความสามารถในการรีไซเคิลของอุปกรณ์ต่าง ๆ และดำเนินการแยกขยะตลอดช่วงกิจกรรม

ดร.ก้อง กล่าวเพิ่มเติมว่า

“อยากให้ทุกคนเปิดใจรับมุมมองใหม่ ใช้กีฬาเป็นแรงผลักดันในการรักษาโลกให้มากขึ้น ภารกิจนี้เป็นของคนทั้งชาติ และของชาวอาเซียนทุกคนที่จะร่วมมือกันเพื่ออนาคตของโลกใบนี้”

ทั้งนี้ คณะกรรมการจัดการแข่งขันประเมินว่า การแข่งขันซีเกมส์ ครั้งที่ 33 จะมีการปล่อยก๊าซเรือนกระจกรวม 363,462.95 ตันคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์ ขณะที่กีฬาอาเซียนพาราเกมส์ ครั้งที่ 13 ประเมินไว้ที่ 19,150 ตันคาร์บอนไดออกไซด์

Thailand Holds Seminar on Greenhouse Gas Reduction Ahead of SEA Games and ASEAN Para Games

Thailand has taken another step toward promoting environmentally responsible sporting events by organizing a workshop on greenhouse gas reduction ahead of the 33rd SEA Games and the 13th ASEAN Para Games. The seminar was held on 17 November at the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT), Hua Mak, and was presided over by Mrs. Prodran Samanmit, Deputy Governor for Professional Sports and Boxing.

The workshop featured Dr. Kong Suriye, project advisor and expert in carbon credits and environmental technologies, who provided comprehensive knowledge on greenhouse gases and climate change, carbon neutrality, net-zero emissions, fundamental principles of carbon footprint assessment, boundary setting and preliminary greenhouse gas inventory, classification of emission and absorption sources, data collection methods, as well as approaches to evaluating and reducing emissions during both major sporting events hosted by Thailand.

Dr. Kong emphasized that beyond sportsmanship on the field, athletes, organizers, and the public should embody goodwill toward the planet under the theme “Fair to the Earth, Fair to the Game.” He highlighted the importance of using international sporting events as a platform to communicate environmental awareness domestically and internationally before the impacts of climate change intensify.

He outlined two main strategies:

Support Operations
Minimizing carbon emissions from athlete and staff transportation and accommodation, ensuring that all waste is properly collected and recycled, and managing waste streams efficiently.

Technical Operations
Managing competition activities to avoid increasing greenhouse gas emissions, verifying the recyclability of all equipment used, and implementing comprehensive waste separation systems throughout the events.

Dr. Kong added:

“We encourage everyone to embrace a new perspective and contribute to protecting our planet through sport. This mission belongs to all Thai people and to all ASEAN nations—we must act together.”

According to the organizing committee, the 33rd SEA Games is projected to generate 363,462.95 tonnes of CO₂, while the 13th ASEAN Para Games is estimated to produce 19,150 tonnes of CO₂.
